What is SMP?
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP)
Scalp micropigmentation, often known as SMP, is the procedure of imitating the appearance of individual hairs by using a specialised tattoo pigment on the scalp. These carbon-based pigments are not carcinogenic, do not change colour over time and are matched to your skin tone to ensure a seamless result.
SMP gives your scalp a natural appearance when it is applied by a highly trained artist who blends it with your remaining natural hairs and skin tone.
Why SMP?
There are a number of reasons as to why many men and women turn to SMP, as it can provide a number of benefits to our clients. The most common occurrence is that it is the ultimate solution for restoring any hair or scalp problems ranging from general thinning of the hair, receding hairlines, scar coverage or medical issues such as acopelia. As well as this, SMP is also used to:
-
Give the look of a full, youthful head of shaven hair
-
Add density to long hair
-
Boost the visual effects of a hair transplant
-
Camouflage results from previous hair transplant surgeries
-
Hide burns and birthmarks
Regain your confidence
Hair loss among men and women is not an uncommon occurrence, but it can be a distressing and expensive experience for many. From thinning or bald batches to complete hair loss, we understand the importance of your hair and the value of feeling comfortable in your own skin through natural-looking and inexpensive solutions.
This non-surgical and non-invasive procedure has no downtime, as well as little to no continued maintenance required. There are also no strict lifestyle restrictions, other than remaining sun smart for the sake of your pigment. It is encouraged to wear a hat and apply sunscreen on high UV days. SMP is an effective and long-term solution for those wanting to restore their confidence.
SMP is also suitable for those who want to cosmetically enhance their hair’s appearance by creating a density or shaved effect to their scalp.
